FBI News:

The FBI and Albuquerque Police Department are investigating a bank robbery and an attempted bank robbery that occurred within a half-hour of each other Tuesday Jan. 11, 2022.

The bank robbery occurred at approximately noon at Bank of the West at 2101 Eubank Boulevard NE.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male about 25 years old, approximately 6’1″ tall, with a thin build and black hair. He wore a dark baseball cap with a Puma brand logo, a blue medical mask, a gray long-sleeve T-shirt, dark gloves and blue jeans. 

The suspect entered the bank and presented a demand note to a teller. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect, who left the bank and walked west on Snow Heights Boulevard NE.

The attempted bank robbery occurred at approximately 12:26 p.m. at US Eagle Federal Credit Union, 1955 Juan Tabo Boulevard NE.

The suspect is described as a white male approximately 6′ tall, with a thin build. He wore a green suit, maroon shirt, red and white neck tie, black beanie with sunglasses on top, a gold ring on his left ring finger and a blue medical mask.

The suspect entered the bank and presented a demand note to a teller but left without money.

Investigations are ongoing, but the two incidents are not believed to be related.

Note: Bank robbery carries a possible prison term of up to 20 years. The use of a gun, other dangerous weapon, toy gun, or hoax bomb device during the commission of a bank robbery can be punishable by a prison term of up to 25 years.
